Service, Support, Warranty and Upgrade Program Concept

Concept Introduction

Transas Marine is internationally recognized as a world-leading developer and supplier of a wide range of IT solutions for the marine industry, including both onboard and shore-based applications.

Transas develops and distributes high-technology software products including:

  • onboard navigation systems and equipment,
  • maritime simulators,
  • shore-based surveillance and security systems.

The principle of open architecture implemented in all Transas developments, as well as the modular design of Transas products, allows the seamless integration of the company's various technologies into large multi-purpose solutions.

All Transas products are designed in strict accordance with international requirements established for these types of equipment. The Transas R&D and QA procedures have been certified for conformity to the international ISO-1994:9001 quality standard.

Transas products have been approved or acknowledged by many established authorities and classification institutions, including: Det Norske Veritas (Norway), Maritime and Coastguard Agency (UK), BSH (Germany), Germanisher Lloyd (Germany), France Telecom (France), Bureau Veritas (France), Russian Register of Shipping (Russia), and the Maritime Administration of the Ministry of Transport (Russia). Transas simulators have been accepted by the US Coast Guard NMC for use in approved training courses. The ECDIS assembly at the Transas premises in Gothenburg, Sweden, and Hamburg, Germany, is 'Wheel mark'-approved.

In its business activities, Transas pays the utmost attention to keeping customers satisfied throughout the entire life cycle of its products. Transas Service Centers, manned by certified service engineers, are located in ports along all major shipping routes and offer first-class technical service support to Transas customers on a worldwide basis.

Today, the increased use of commercial off the shelf components and Windows-based PC networks as well as the foundation of the Transas international service network have led to a reduction in equipment cost for Transas customers and allowed for a new approach to system investment and maintenance. The use by Transas of standard COTS equipment and the Windows OS platform, even in the most complex and technically advanced solutions, has opened up an opportunity for structured, cost effective, and efficient, managed maintenance and development programs.

Taking advantage of the highest qualification, extensive field experience and significant volume of installations made by Transas engineering staff, and in collaboration with our partners at training institutions around the globe, Transas has developed a comprehensive, flexible and customizable maintenance and development program called TRANSERV. This program is fully applicable for the entire range of Transas products and integrated solutions.

The objective of the TRANSERV program is to achieve total customer satisfaction through the best service quality and value for money.

The program consists of a number of individual options, designed to offer to every Transas customer a scope of maintenance, support, warranty and upgrade services, which would optimally meet their budget and business objectives. TRANSERV customers can manage their budgets with maximum efficiency and can feel confident that their system will remain 100 percent up-to-date and in good working order, for many years to come. Moreover, TRANSERV takes advantage of new Transas software and hardware developments and keeps up with new or potential changes in National and International standards.

The TRANSERV program is implemented using the worldwide network of Transas certified local service agents managed by our global HUB Office structure. At present, Transas HUB offices are located in the United Kingdom, Sweden, USA, Germany, Russian Federation, UAE, Singapore and P.R. China. More Transas HUB offices will be established, in the near future. Constant investments in, and the utmost attention to the training and certification of the Service and Distribution Network, are integral parts of the corporate policy at Transas. The Transas Service network exists in some 90 countries, which enables the company to provide system support to worldwide customers at the highest technical and project management level.

The TRANSERV agreement can be commenced after initial system acceptance, on completion of the initial warranty period, or at any other stage, during the Transas product life. Flexible contract duration terms ranging from just one to five years or more, are available.
